St. Matthew Trinity is a family-oriented church. On a weekly basis throughout Sunday morning, opportunities for learning and interaction as church include:
- Children’s sermons in worship and Sunday School for children
- Inter-generational Choir/Coffee Hours hosted by small groups
- Monthly Cross-Generational Sunday School
- Darlington Early Childhood Center, an excellent daycare for children aged 18 months through kindergarten, rents space here
- Youth Group for people between the ages of 10-16
We participate with other Lutheran churches in RI for monthly youth meetings. Also, we enjoy Inter-generational work days and clean-up days; and potluck and game nights for the whole family!
St. Matthew Trinity is active in serving the Pawtucket region.
Our Food Pantry, affiliated with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, serves between 300-400 people per month and is open on Thursday and Friday mornings from 9AM-12PM. Members of the church serve every quarter at the Christian Community Soup Kitchen, which serves homemade food to about 50 people who are financially struggling.
AA meets twice a week (Thursday and Saturday evenings) and GA meets on Monday nights, and Mondays we host Weight Watchers!
For the World
St. Matthew Trinity actively serves the world: Backpack Blessings is a program of Sunrise Liberia, which gives full backpacks to school age children in Liberia. This year they hope to give 2000 backpacks away and St. Matthew Trinity will be a part of helping them reach that goal!
With our Lutheran connections, we join with other Lutheran churches to serve suffering people through World Hunger appeals and Lutheran Disaster Relief.
Women join with other Lutheran women throughout the United States in order to serve matters of justice and peace.
